Into the Sauna’s Embrace is an installation–performance by artists Sanna Pelliccioni and Gabriela Ariana.
Through the sauna gate, visitors step into the sauna’s powerful world, where sound, images, textures, movement, and touch invite the audience to sense and deepen into the different layers of the sauna’s experience. The exhibition features also traditional sauna songs whose roots stretch back thousands of years.
This multisensory space, unfolding at the intersection of everyday life and art, invites everyone to experience the world of the sauna and the ancient origins of sauna bathing.
Into the Sauna’s Embrace consists of paintings, sauna whisks and other sauna ointments installation, a soundscape and a live-performance. As a whole, with its various elements, the work adapts well to many different kinds of indoor and outdoor spaces.
